Dear linguists,

I wanted to alert you to another upcoming talk on campus, this one by Daniel Erker, a candidate for the position in Spanish linguistics in the Dept. of Romance Studies. Daniel specializes in Spanish dialectology, phonetics, and sociolinguistics. His talk will be held on Friday, February 23, in CAS 533B, in the Geddes Language Center, and will be titled:

Of categories and continua: Relating the discrete and gradient aspects of sociophonetic variation

Refreshments will be served afterward!

Additionally, for those of you that were present at the talk last week by Meghan Armstrong, our search committee would be interested in hearing any feedback that you might have on the matter.
