Dear potential BUCLD 37 attendee: As you are all surely aware, the eastern US was recently hit by Hurricane Sandy, and it caused a of damage along the coast. At Boston University specifically, we were spared serious damage; the power remained on, no major flooding, no real damage to structures. It has affected other cities much more, including some of those which tend to serve as transfer hubs for flights into Boston. There is no local obstacle to proceeding, and so the conference will be held as planned, starting Friday (with the Society for Language Development symposium starting tomorrow). Travel will be difficult or even impossible for some, depending on where it originates. If you are presenting and know that you cannot be here for your scheduled talk/poster, please let us know and we will try to reschedule if possible. Some changes to the details of the schedule have already been made to accommodate such circumstances. Also, if you are unable to attend at all, but have already registered, let us know; the registration fee will of course be refunded. For those who are scheduled to present but cannot attend, we would still like to encourage participation in the proceedings, and you will be contacted after the conference. If you have other questions, please check our web site at http://www.bu.edu/bucld/ or send your questions to langconf@bu.edu -- and otherwise, we hope to see you soon at the conference, or, if not this year, in the future, at the next conference. Thanks, The BUCLD 37 team
